--WWF Intercontinental Championship Match: Jeff Jarrett (W/Debra) V. Edge. Jarrett lost the Intercontinental title the previous night at a house show in Canada to Edge who was substituting for Ken Shamrock, and demanded a rematch tonight. Debra became much hotter upon entering the WWF and learning how to dress like a slut. Good back and forth mat wrestling starts things off. Northern Lights Suplex by Edge gets 2. Edge hurts his knee when landing a jump off the middle-rope, so Jarrett goes to work on it. Edge then injures his shoulder after missing a Spear in the corner and ramming into the ringpost, so Jarrett changes his plan of attack and focuses on the shoulder instead of the knee. Jarrett then abandons the shoulder and instead applies a Sleeper. Edge hits a weird looking Tornado DDT. Jarrett wins the match and the title at 13:23 by pin via the Stroke. ** The effort was there, but the psychology was all over the place with Jarrett switching body parts every second, and both guys seemed to be a bit off in the match.
--WWF Tag Team Championship, Handicap, No Disqualification Match: Acolytes V. Michael Hayes, Hardy Boyz. Hardys are the champs & Hayes is their manager, but if Hayes gets pinned they can lose the titles. Jeff takes out Bradshaw with a Somersault Plancha to the outside, and then Matt takes out everyone with a Moonsault. Jeff tries to springboard off the top rope but Bradshaw catches him and Chokeslams him off the top-rope in a vicious manner. Bradshaw with an Avalanche Backdrop Driver on Matt. Jeff tries a Jumping Leg Lariat off Matt's back, but Bradshaw nails him with a vicious Lariat. Bradshaw gets the win and the titles at 9:35 with a pin on Matt following a double-team Powerbomb. *** Some good brawling in the beginning & some wicked spots at the end, but there was a lull in the middle, and Hayes didn't add anything to the match.
--WWF European Championship Match: D-Lo Brown V. Mideon. Mideon was previously known as Phineas Godwinn and had a brief stint in WCW as Tex Slazenger. D-Lo busts out a Tope Suicida early on. D-Lo goes for a Tornado DDT but Mideon is less than cooperative and messes up the move. D-Lo gets the pin and the titles at 7:11 with a Frog Splash. * D-Lo tried, but Mideon was beyond carryable here.
--WWF Hardcore Championship, Falls Count Anywhere, Hardcore Match: Big Bossman V. Al Snow. Bossman had rammed a spike into Snow's mannequin head previous to this match, which was causing Snow to act more psychotic than usual. They fight to the back where Snow gives Bossman a Vertical Suplex through a table. Bossman tries to run over Snow with a golf cart, but it won't start, which is a trend you see with vehicles all the time in the WWE nowadays. They fight outside the arena where Bossman gets the pin and the title at 10:04 after handcuffing Snow to a fence and beating him down with a baton. ** Match was entertaining but as far as the wrestling goes this was a lot of mindless brawling.
--Big Show V. Kane. Hardcore Holly is the special guest referee and this was during his "Big Shot" gimmick, so he's also biased towards Show. Match starts off with Kane getting Press Slammed over the top rope. Show gets the pin at 8:12 with a Chokeslam after Holly clipped Kane from behind. 1/4* Bad match, but JR says both guys are big about 20 times during the match, so maybe that means we're supposed to like the match.
--Iron Circle Match: Steve Blackman V. Ken Shamrock. This would be a pre-cursor to the Latino Heat Streetfight that was recently on Smackdown involving Eddie Guerrero & John Cena. Basic premise is that a bunch of cars form a circle in a parking garage & the two combatants fight each other within the circle until only one man is able to walk out of the circle. Shamrock gets the win at 4:11 after he's able to walk out of the circle by choking out Blackman with a chain. 3/4* Lots of punching & kicking here, and when compared to any other matches of its type, this one pails in comparison.
--Inter-Gender Match: Chyna, Mr. Ass V. X-Pac, Road Dogg. Ass is Billy Gunn taking his "Ass Man" gimmick a little too far. This is a battle for the rights to anything related to Degeneration-X, and not surprisingly nobody really gave a shit who won at this point. Dogg either goes for a Pumphandle Slam on Chyna early on, or he was checking to see if she was in fact a man, but she escapes before the truth can be found. Jackhammer Suplex by Ass, and what a surprise, he executed it better than Goldberg has ever executed his version. Dogg gets the pin on Ass at 11:45 with a Pumphandle Slam. *1/2 Pedestrian match, with Chyna helping to drag it down even further than it already was.
--Strap, Falls Count Anywhere Match: Triple H V. Rock. Funny spot, as Rock stops beating on Triple H, grabs a fans camera, snaps a picture of Triple H, and then continues beating on him. King then shocks me by going in-depth about what both guys need to do to win a strap match, even pointing out how both guys aren't using the strap to its fullest abilities. It's scary to hear King here, and then hear the shell of an announcer he's become today. JR then takes the time to bring up the infamous MSG incident with the Kliq, and according to him nothing written on the internet is ever true. That sure explains all the bullshit that he was spewing in the Ross Report for all those years. They brawl all over the ringside area for the first half of the match. Back in the ring, as Chyna bounces down to ringside just in time to distract the ref after Rock hits a Rock Bottom. Mr. Ass then comes down and lays out Rock with a club, but Triple H only gets 2 off of that. Triple H gets the pin at 19:22 with a Pedigree. *** Match was good for the first 13 minutes, but then both guys got tired & sloppy, and the match devolved into an overbooked mess.
--WWF Heavyweight Championship, First Blood Match: Undertaker V. Steve Austin. If Taker wins then Austin never gets another shot at the Heavyweight title, but if Austin wins then Vince McMahon has to leave the WWF forever. Yeah, like there was ever any chance of those stipulations being upheld. Both men attacked each other at various points during the night, so they both have been busted open and stitched up already. Vince joins us for some commentary. They brawl outside the ring for a couple of minutes before the match can officially begin. Sloppy ref bump leads to Taker being tied up in the ropes. Shane McMahon comes down to try and stop Austin from attacking Taker with a chair, so Austin wallops Shane with a brutal chair shot instead. Austin wins at 10:53 after busting Taker open with a shot to the head from a video camera. * Slow, plodding match that wasn't helped by the overbooking at the end.
--Final Flash: Nothing much to write home about, and none of the matches are worth finding on their own.
